From the Team Manager.
An early start, a long drive up the valley, and a game that went right to the wire. 🏉
Gilfach Goch were quick out of the blocks and had the first score on the board, and by half time they had stretched that to a ten point lead. The Warriors had not played badly, but the scoreboard was not telling the story anyone wanted.
The second half was a different game. Tolis got us moving, Khadr levelled it up, and after Gilfach edged back in front James put us right back on terms at 20-20. It was back and forth from there, with some great physical battles all over the park and both sides throwing everything at the gain line.
Gilfach found one more try and, crucially, the conversion that came with it. Jackson went over at the death to bring us within two, but there was not enough time left to find the score that would have won it.
Beaten by a single conversion, and plenty to be proud of in that second half comeback.

Worked tirelessly in the tight and took the game to Gilfach every time he got his hands on the ball. His try at 20-20 was the one that dragged us level and kept the comeback alive.
Controlled things from the base all morning, kept the tempo up when we needed to chase the game, and never stopped talking to the forwards in front of him.
Special mentions from the sideline. 🍾
First score of the second half and the one that got the comeback started. A real handful all morning. 👌
A great tackle and then held the ball up over our own try line. A score prevented is worth just as much as one scored. 🛡️
Levelled the game up at 15-15 and gave everyone belief it was still there to be won. 🔥
Went over right at the end to make it a two point game. Never stopped believing. 🐕
Every score, as it happened. Whitchurch first.
